Photo Opportunity: Portaneevy Viewing Point

Our next stop is a photo opportunity of the nerve jangling Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, (from the Portaneevy Viewing Point), near the beautiful North Antrim village of Ballintoy, which has featured prominently in HBO’s Game Of Thrones. The bridge spans 20 metres from the mainland to the tiny island of Carrick-a-Rede, taking its name from the Irish “Carraig a Raid”, meaning ‘rock of the casting’.

It now attracts visitors from around the world, since it gained fame as a filming location for Game of Thrones , adding to its allure.

This is also where we will stop for lunch.

Stop 5

Benn Allen is the best! He made us laugh all day. He is entertaining, knowledgeable, born and raised in Belfast, knows about the history (good and bad) and all the stories of his country. He is genuine, energetic and fun. He has nice music on the bus between stops, when he takes a break from talking 😜. He deserves all the best. He has been the highlight of our 15 days trip around the UK. Cheers

The highlight of my North Ireland trip, it was organized. Lidnsey our tour guide and driver was super funny and informative… I did the Giant Causeway tour, it has several short stops, and the main two Dark Hedges and Giant Causeway. The views are breathtaking! Get early to the bus if you want to be able to choose nice stop in the bus. (Specially the windows), be prepared for a long day, but a very fill and fun day!

Our guide was funny and genuinely warm. For a full day of visits and commentary, you couldn’t ask for more. The closest competition wanted £35 for the same tour.

A superb tour, which surpassed my extremely high expectations. Paul, our excellent driver, was a mine of information & a wonderful storyteller. He really enhanced the experience. The Giant's Causeway was my highlight. Such a fascinating place with the most stunning scenery! I shall always treasure my memories of this trip. Thank you, Allen Tours!
